Temporary Exile

After a week vacation, I have returned to school in order to get back to work. One of the more interesting things that I’ll be doing is working with one of the programs to teach the Logo programming language using MIT’s StarLogo package. One of the main reasons I am excited about this is that I, a freshman, get paid for being a TA and Lab guy in a program. It’s really an cool thing to be able to do this. I’m sitting here in the empty lab as the students just left and I can’t help but think how much I can learn from this experience.

Many students are basically know-nothings regarding computing and the one or two that have programmed before have only used things like VB. The goal here is to teach math with computing and I can only hope my own math will improve along side the skills of my students and peers.
